Line Break - On-On Feet

SATURDAY MORNING 11:00.AM……….JUST GOT UP AND MY HEAD HURTS FROM THE NIGHT BEFORE OR WAS IT FROM ALL THOSE KARAOKE SINGERS.
FEET, CALVES, THIGHS, AND ALL OVER BODY PAINS FROM THE RUN THE NIGHT BEFORE AND THE LIME LATER.
I  REALLY DIDN’T BELIEVE I WOULD HAVE TO DRIVE AUDREY AND AIKENHEAD TO THE HASH BUT THEY INSISTED.
The drive itself was like a hash.   We finally got to the hash site to see a very large turnout. I thought with all the rain and mud with the hills the back pack was in for some punishment.
We gathered for the normal hash instructions from Doon  and off went…..ON ON!! I decided to walk since my feet were killing me but I couldn’t take the heckling from Audrey and all that jostling in the back. It’s brutal in the walkers pack in case you did not know. (Try it sometime at your own peril).
Off we ran down to the sea followed by a false trail and the back was now in front, much to the chagrin of the front runners. More pushing and pulling and jostling for position.
Eventually my legs cooperated as I was feeling better and I started to run without any respect from the front runners for an elder statesman. Some of them can be downright humourless. It’s trample or be trampled in their need for bragging rights of who passed who.
Finding ourselves very close to our run site but on the opposite side of the river we wound our way along the river banks finally running in and out of the river bed. Filling my shoes with sand and gravel…
The hares did an excellent job of keeping the pack together, so good as to get the front runners pissed off with their excellent checks, which demoted a lot of them to the back.
I was enjoying myself immensely when I came upon the dreaded hills, a monster of a hill.  I slipped and fell a couple of times and had to take a breather since my heart was beating like a base man in meh head.
Oh!! Did I mention that I passed a couple of front runners…. Well not quite..they passed me!!!
Well at last we got to the top and was rewarded with a fantastic view although by this time I just wanted to vomit!!
Soon after, I found a road leading down and I found a short cut in to the run site.  That was it for me.
I later overheard two you “whipper snappers” who were racing in arguing about which one of them won the race. I just quietly told myself the hash is not a race …and that is my story and I am sticking to it!!
Clearly they had not been out carousing the night before!
As the runners came in and we settled into the usual banter and beers.  The elixir of life!!
HASH  BANTER!!
Betty Boobs was overheard complaining about being kept back by the back pack on the hill…ehhhh…. BITE ME!!!
AMAZINGLY NO POOFTERS ON THIS RUN!!
MAHASHMA WAS THE ONLY NOMINEE FOR THE HENIOUS CRIME OF CARNIVAL CRUISE FIASCO!!
ROAD BLOCK….  SPEAK TO SLIPPERY MOSS,…THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU  HAVE AN UP-TO-DATE  INSURANCE AND GOOD FRIENDS TO DROP YOU HOME……………ON  ON!!

27th Anniversary Run

27TH ANNIVERSARY RUN

DATE:  Friday 4th February, 2011
VENUE: La Casa de Ibiza, Tragarete Road
SCRIBE: Cappy

The hash assembled like most hashes but what scared me was the line up…ONLY RUNNING MACHINES.
ASHE AND MIKE HALE GOT THE USUAL 5 MINUTES. It took off down to ONE WOODBROOK PLACE winded its way to ARIAPITA AVE………
Thank God Michelle asked and got the location of the next beer stop and was told Corkies!!!! and we decided to make a bee line for it. That by itself was punishing enough, the other hashers headed up to St. Clair Ave.
When we arrived at the first bar stop we saw Zam smiling sheepishly along with Eric sitting in  his van which was not being used as a support vehicle. He had retired it early for the evening to get a head start with the liming.
With miles of running ahead of me, soon enough up came Richard Hart , Dave Aitkenhead, Harper,  and the rest of the motley crew.
We were off again and spotted the hares heading into Maraval, NAAAH !!!!!! MADNESS!!  What does a hasher of my experience do?? I took a short cut in the direction of Long Circular Mall……… This is when I questioned my logic… “who tell me I could run with these buggers I could have stayed by the bar and had some cold brewskies with Randal and Christine.””
I struggled my way past Ambassador Hotel as the hasher zig zagged their way through Maraval, and raced to the next Beer Stop in St. James. Not me I headed back, since that was far enough for me……. Marlay had long dropped out, when I saw Michelle in Eric’s van.  I struggled my way in.
The others got in sometime later with everyone exhausted and complaining that the run was way too long, but still tried to keep up Macho appearances.  I am sure in their minds there was the thought of the following day’s hash being set by Doon.
Behind the smiles was pain, even Nico and Aitkenhead had their turn at short cuts. After discussions about the run, the run turned out to be 7 miles and fast!!! After the usual de brief and back slapping we headed into the bar.
The meltdown into Madness started with Christine opening with her rendition on the Karaoke microphone. The melody forgotten but the madness was in high gear.
In attendance was THE HALE SISTERS, AHSA, BETTY, THE MC GEE’S
And so many more best forgotten.. I mean their repertoires!!!
Not surprisingly Martin by nigt anointed himself MC.. ..and the festivities began.
Betty sang……….Asha sang
Audrey …… tried to sing.
McGee…spoke…Put your sweet lips a little closer to the phone.
Harper screamed ……something about Shabba.
Christian Anderson…..sang quite well surprise!! surprise!!
And Mashasma had the girls pulling and writhing on him while he croaked something which I can’t remember.
Randal tried to sing MY Way but Martin sang it his way instead.
And the music got lost in the screaming, and somehow everyone felt they were all superstars…I have to give the EMMY to Betty for stage her performance.. if that is what it was………
All in all, it was a great evening of silliness and fun and Laughter…as the hash events used to be in yesteryear…  It would be great to have that back again.!!
HOWEVER,YOU HAD TO BE THERE!!
FOR THOSE THAT DID NOT COME YOU MISSED A FANTASTIC EVENING OF
THE 27TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PORT OF SPAIN HASH HOUSE HARRIERS……..ON ON..

Mahashma's Meditations

You can always rely on Doon and company to set great runs. This was no exception. In case anyone does not know by now Doon’s hash name is the Flying Indian. He flies uphill like the wind. The run was well set and the food was on time and therefore was sold out. Advice to any future Hares is never let the food arrive late.
A special welcome to our virgins: John, Pauline, Miranda, Hank, Amalia (New Shoes), Antonio and Raphal and I hope to see you all again. One of our virgins was set up by the person who brought her along because she was never warned about the consequence of wearing new shoes.

The Mahashma was set up by Big Mike McGee to get the Poofter’s shirt. It’s just not right to give the HM the Poofter’s nominations, simply because he wanted everyone to go on “Boodrams’ Fantasy Vacation” on the Carnival Victory. Hash Cash would have refunded everyone.

770 January 22, 2011 Hadyn/Nico/Ashe/Taz Caura Cyberman THE MISSING PAGE

Line Break - On-On Feet

Houston we have a problem. One third of the trash has been lost and it is too late to contact Goldie Locks to rewrite page one.
So I called Mahashma for advice and he said “just fill the cyberspace with some crap. Anything would be better than what was probably written anyway. So let the moving write and having written stop."
Rumple Foreskin gave the script to Doc who gave to H.M. who gave it to Dental Assistant Venessa to type to send to Salma to print. You see how things can get cocked up. Venessa said she would try to remember what was on page one. It was something like this:
“Why do women like anal sex” the Mahashma was asked one day, in reply, the Mahashma said "they like it so they can catch up reading a book, do some ironing or email someone on their blackberry at the same time."
And now for page two over to Rumple Foreskin and the rest of the real trash………………..
Here we go now, up, up, up, quite a tough incline slowing the pack considerably as we started to feel the pain. I came across Numbnuts standing at a left fork in the trail, bitching about being tired and saying he ent going up there. He and Martin felt they should go left and so they did. I could see about 20 or so front runners ahead of me up and up to the top of the mountain, led by Big Mike and Derek. So although I was hurting, I took some comfort from the fact I was on the right trail. I could now hear Martin and Nuts calling ON ON but took heart from the fact the suckers had to come back and follow us up the mountain. I can see "Nico" up there with the front runners so I know we on the correct trail. Ozama Bin Hashin comes alongside me, telling me we going the wrong way. Why is that I asked? It’s a long back check to slow down the front runners he replied as he passed me. He must feel I chupid. Looking back I was alarmed to see I was last and no one following me, but I kept going up. Then I heard checking being called, much to my delight and made a last big effort and reached the check at the top feeling vindicated and somewhat smug. Whats that you say Nico:”on back”. I don’t believe this shit. Where’s that f***ing Zam? I’ll put my boot so far up his arse he’ll taste the boot polish.
Yachtie Dave streaked past me going down, chased by Teheli, Big Mike, Derek, Nico and others so about I turn and follow suit. We made quite a quick descent, turning right onto the correct trail and a nice downhill run. We must be 15 minutes behind the current front runners now, so that’s it all over. The trail now takes us down a ravine which is very muddy, slick and dangerous due to the previous hashers who went before eroding the trail, and into a river bed.

What’s this? We have caught the back pack crossing a river and a tough climb up and out of the ravine. At the top of the ridge we pick up a nice trail gently going down for a good mile or so running. We came round a bend and passed Mahashma standing talking to some chick, but no one else around. How odd. The trail now starts going down quite steeply left, right, left, right, a series of bends down to the road. It’s a funny old business hashing, because as our group emerged onto the road, to our left, we saw the new front runners coming back out the bush from what was obviously along false trail. We are now the front runners again. Can you believe that? Well, we took off at a speed along the road to the beer stop. But as we were so near home I didn’t see the point and kept going. At the road junction, we hit the”on in” and hung a left back to the cars. I trotted in with Randall (Mr. Christian) Lyon, the leader of the infamous Carnival Victory Mutiny. But that’s another story. Doc Paton made sure he beat us for bragging rights. One of the Claxton Bay posse had to show off by sprinting up the hill to the car park and even passing the Doc.
Thank you Hares, this was a good workout, well set and enjoyable hash mainly keeping the pack together. This was a big turnout, probably 100 hashers.

The usual after hash festivities ensued. I had my two beers before heading off home. In closing, as I was leaving I offered Doc Paton and Randall a beer. They both said no, we are being responsible. Can you believe that shit. Just goes to show age brings reason.

Line Break - On-On Feet

Mahashma's Meditations

The second run of the year and possibly the best so far is over. The Hares get top marks for parking, plenty of room and surrounded by beautiful views. However, a word of advice to would be Hares……Keep away from bees. Find a track around them. Hashers don’t have brains and someone like Zam is going to do something stupid and disturb them. Four or five people got multiple stings and in some rare cases a single bee sting can kill individuals who are allergic to them. So, I repeat keep away from bees.

The Calypso Show is around the corner so give your names to Taz or myself and start composing.

Welcome to all the virgins there were so many including two busloads of yachties. Oh! So Many Virgins: Tiffany, Ludo, Porter, Vikki, Joel, Romanyne, Mischa, Hannah, Reginald, Alisha, Patricia, Osei, Daniel, Edith, Denis, Noelle, Honey, Mariella, Phillip, Rianna, Ryan, John and Ginny………any beers left???

The Poofter shirt went to Betty who after twenty years of hashing can’t tell the difference between a yellow cocoa pod and a paw-paw and to Helena for her disintegrating tights.

New Shoes: Simeon (Mahashma’s son: was he set up???)

Birthday Corner: Shawna, Gerry, Lawrence, Asha, Karen, Harty, Femia, Dianne, Flash and others.

Thank you Cyril for your rendition of "THE Best Hash Ever". Once again I found no enlightenment in Caura so I will try Blanchisseuse……..ON ON.
