Line Break - On-On Feet

Another trip to the North Coast. Great I thought!! More sun, sand and sea. Well it wasn’t quite like that. Those three elements were never ever visible. Darren and Co. served up an "old time hash." Plenty rain, plenty mud, plenty hills. It was raining at the start, and all the way through the hash and was still raining for the down down. Even the usual "eye tonic" was not visible. It was all covered in mud.

After a very long ascent up a hill that seemed never ending, we would then have to navigate through narrow muddy ridges flanked by some slightly perilous descents which included assistance with ropes. My companion for a while, a salty yachtie from Chaguaramas took a very bad fall, and finished up lying flat out with his head pointing down a very steep hill. The only thing that saved him from a very quick descent downhill was that his foot got caught in a rope that was meant to be handled by his other limbs. He kept insisting that he was all right, and with his intrepid ski /walking stick, coupled with some other assistance, he managed to become upright. On seeing the rope he sighed "What’s that f***ing rope doing there?" A typical mariner, they managed to stay on their feet in terrible sea conditions, but on terra firma cannot stay upright. After he had recovered from his gymnastics, we exchanged information on the different parts of the world we had hashed in. He insisted that the El Zorro Trace hash was a comparatively easy one, and that the toughest and hardest hash he had ever done was in Madeira. So there is a warning- Don’t bother going hashing in Madeira!!

It was a good hash, a great work out for the seventy or so hashers. Clearly the hares had put in alot of work, and it would have been an even better experience if the rain had accorded the dry season some more respect. A quick few beers and I headed home to dry out, and thankfully, with no police stops. On- On to the next hash.

Mahashma's Meditations

Right now in the country there is alot of debate about hanging. It is a good thing we don’t hang poofters on the hash as they do in some countries. (I am an abolitionist). If we did we would have hanged the wrong man and I would now have to issue a posthumous pardon in the name of Wahid.

Further investigations showed the culprit who screwed up the start of the hash was our man from the CIA Mike Hale. He should have been poofter but he lied his way out. It appears the CIA has been keeping a close eye on the hash for many years now starting with R.H. then A.H. and now M.H. Very suspicious indeed, can’t fool me.
More will be revealed in future.
So I officially pardon Wahid.

Welcome to all the virgins who stayed and braved the rain. Hope to see you all again.
